How can I stop the Ultrasearchula navigation bar at the top of the screen from being displayed?Select 'options', or the 'gears' icon to open the preferences. There is an option to switch off the 'search navigator frame'.
How do I remove the Ultrasearchula navigation bar at the top of the screen?
Clicking on the 'x' icon at the far right of the bar will remove the Ultrasearchula navigation bar. Unfortunately, if you have moved away from the search page you may find that clicking this will also redisplay the search page that you started from. This is due to a security feature which Ultrasearchula cannot bypass...
When I click the 'x' to remove the Ultrasearchula navigation bar the browser reverts back to the search page that I started from.
This is due to a security feature which Ultrasearchula cannot bypass. This security feature can be bypassed by changing the settings of your browser, enable the 'Navigate sub-frames across different domains' setting in your browsers Security settings. Also note that the Ultrasearchula navigator bar can be switched off completely in the 'options' if you wish.
How can I select the default link for a category without being sent to the search page?
Select 'options', or the 'gears' icon to open the preferences. You are then in an edit mode and can change any of the default search links from the menus without initialising a search, by clicking on the ones you want to be the default.

Yes, please do! Click here if you are using Internet Explorer. If you use Firefox or Netscape then drag the url link to the 'home' icon.
I am trying to use Ultrasearchula on a PDA/mobile phone/portable device, but it does not work.
Your mobile device will need to have Javascript capabilities. Most modern device do now support this. We have tested Ultrasearchula on iPhone Safari and the Opera Mobile Browser. We will continue to test on other platforms. If you have used Ultrasearchula on your portable device we would be greatful of your feedback

When I select 'myspace' from the people category the Ultrasearchula bar disappears, is this a fault?
Unfortunately 'myspace' removes the frame that Ultrasearchula resides in. Thankfully this is the only site on Ultrasearchula that does. We can't stop it. Press your browsers 'back' button to get the Ultrasearchula bar back, with your current search term in.
I don't want to see all links to all these sites that I don't use. Can I remove them, or add my own sites?
We plan to continue enhancing Ultrasearchula, whilst aiming to keeping it simple and straightforward. We're looking at providing a means of hiding links and categories that you don't use. Adding your own links is a little more tricky, as many of the sites have complicated strings to enable the searches to be called, it's on the list of possibilities though.
